Same Day, Different Places

Embracing Freedom

Reminders on Facebook helps us relive experiences. Sometimes stimulating pain and other times happiness. One instance of these reminders this year made the gratitude I felt on that day even deeper

On October 15, 2016, I posted this:

"My heart is filled with so much gratitude.
His Love for me keeps me Hopeful.
Despite my shortcomings and imperfections
He remains constant and consistent in His Mercy
And as I wipe these tears of genuine thanksgiving off my face
I reflect on how much ache this heart held a year ago
Truly in the pain lies the healing, the victory
All that is needed is to find the courage to not embrace suffering
but surround oneself with positive energy
and consciously filter what you allow through your doors
Physical, mental and your soul's
Choose to live, choose to be alive
Be present!
Do it now, the clock is ticking.

Then, shortly afterwards, I was reminded of what I had posted a year before, October 15th, 2015:

"Lately the thought that people die is getting so real.
From many points, home and abroad, of people of different caliber, of different causes.
The strong, the weak.
The rich, the poor.
Mentors, Doctors, Activists, Students...
Dictators, oppressors, criminals...
What will be your regrets if you die today?
From a 'self' point of view,
From the point of view of your 'beliefs',
From the point of view of 'hurt you keep enduring',
From the point of view of 'relationships',
From the point of view of what you think your 'purpose' is in life,
From the point of view of your 'dreams',
What will you miss the most about living?
What will people close and distant say about you?
Would what they say be the truth about you?
What would you change today if you knew you would die tomorrow?
What would you do?
What?"

The later post was tied in many ways to an event that taught me to value my life. It was one of the main stimulant of my zeal to save myself from the abyss that sought to reduce me to a state of nothingness. Leading to the Reset.

I don't want to ever forget the journey, just so I never surrender to such forces ever again. So I can always be grateful and never trade my soul's peace for anything, for anyone.
