A lot still bear the shackles, most unknowingly
What and who are you a slave to?
That large sum of money in your account that you only want to increase
Or that money you lack that'll make you do anything
That fame you have that keeps the comments, admiration and likes pouring in
without which your life appears to be a stand-still
Or that lack of recognition that drives you to stoop low to gain cheap popularity
That ideology, believe system, faith sold to you by some 'religious' or 'political' or tribal leader who cares for none but himself
Sowing a seed of insecurity, hate, inferiority complex or at times delusion of grandiose in your heart
Or that propaganda that is served to you night and day by the 24-hr media
Or that drug or substance that gives you a glimpse of 'utopia' or helps you escape your realities
Or that person you think you cannot live without for one self-relegating reason or another
Or that home that has become a trap and a prison that you cannot escape simply because you said 'I do' on a beautiful day sometimes ago
That voice in your head that tells you it is over and you are worthless and you can achieve nothing
That one that reminds you so much how messed up your past is and that you have no path to redemption
Or the one that says you've fallen so much out of Grace that there is no getting up
Or that one. Yes, that one that tells you you are better than everyone else on the planet
And that the world's center of attraction is you, stopping you from seeing the value in others
All those powers that tell you your thoughts don't matter and with or without your permission control your mind, body and soul
Snap out of it!!!
The physical, mental and psychological slavery
The conditioning of your mind to a one-way traffic
The loss of the ability to be logical and reasonable
The loss of balance in the way you perceive, think, and act.
Start to define who you are and who you want to be
True control is not absolute power
But it is a balance between authority and compassion
Assertiveness and humility
A talking mouth with a listening ear
An hardworking hand with a nose that pauses to smell the roses, or even coffee, ever so often
A recognition of your strengths and the right channeling of your vulnerability
A mouth that talks about your weaknesses with a mind that reminds you you are not limited by them
Now that you are free, what are you going to do with it?
Well, sorry to burst that bubble
The 'masters' will constantly attempt to take you under their control
You will have to constantly and continuously reassess
A pause to think may always be your best friend
To remain authentic and be free from the shackles.
