Phases and Seasons

Beauty and clarity of fall

Driving down Academy Road is one of my favorite things to do

Just like the concept of ‘Happy Maps’, I’d rather take that route

even when longer by some minutes

In the daytime, the sun rays are seen piercing through the apertures between the trees

At night, the moonlight shines down glamorously through the branches

The beauty is breathtaking!

The curved road flanked on both sides by beautiful trees of many colors, sizes, and shapes

Some trees extending their branches out into the road

As though creating a scene from a thriller, seeming to roar: ‘I’m coming for you’

Other times it feels like walking down the aisle, with an Arch of Sabres overhead

I was enveloped by the excitement of the sight in summer

Little did I know that the fall view is even more captivating

Wowza!

Those moments when you can see farther into the distance

The naked trees, a result of fallen leaves, gives you a peek into the secrets of the forest

Much like the much-needed clarity and readiness that precede new phases of our lives

Though the trees lack leaves of their own,

They continue to support the climbing vines around their stems

in their quest for sunlight

On the other hand, you are left in awe by other trees standing in defiance of the season

with their leaves all intact

Shielding their neighboring trees as best possible from the winds

Much like human interactions

and individual growth, occurring over multiple phases; intertwined

With different individuals at different phases

Each finding delight or pain in his phase in life

But no one season lasts forever

Winter is just around the corner

and so is Spring, and Summer.
